Recently, nut butters are becoming very popular. Everyone in my family is fan of peanut butter. I was curious about other nut butter like cashew and almond butter. But the prices of nut butter are not really affordable though . So I decided to make it at home. I tried out many recipes and, finally found my version of almond butter prepared using just 4 ingredients found in every house. I am going to share the recipe for natural almond butter. It is sugar-free and much cheaper than store-bought ones.
Almonds are one of the main sources of omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin B6 which, improves our brain health. They are low in carbohydrates and high in proteins, hence are a perfect choice in the weight watchers diet. Almond butter is not only used as smoothies, desserts, and breakfast toast but, also as a pre-workout snack.
Everyone in my house loves my almond butter. My fussy eater calls it chocolate butter due to its chocolate flavour as I added some chocolate chips to make it more tastier .and now not only him but my husband also wants to have it in everything in oatmeal, pancakes, toast, and also as a salad dressing. It is quick, healthy, and full filling. Making almond butter at home is so easy if you have some patience and a good food blender. Just roast the almonds and blend them along with other ingredients in steps until a butter-like consistency is reached.
The almond butter can be made more flavoursome using cinnamon powder, jaggery, chocolate chips, and vanilla extract.
So without wasting more time lets dive into recipe….
Ingredients:
Almonds 1 cup
Jaggery powder ¼ cup
Chocolate chips 2 tablespoon
Method:
1.Dry roast the almonds in a pan for 5 minutes on low flame. Stir the almonds.
2.Remove the almonds and allow it to cool completely.
3.Once cooled, add the almonds into the blender and blend for 3 minutes.
4. Mix well and again blend for 3-4 minutes.
5.Add jaggery powder and chocolate chips.
6. And again blend 3 times until a smooth butter like consistency is reached.
7. The almond butter is ready .Store the almond butter in an airtight container. Use as required.
Notes:
- Do not add water or oil.
- You can store this butter upto 1 week in refrigerator.
- You can also add maple syrup or honey as sweetener instead of jaggery and sugar.
