Homemade Baked Granola

       Homemade baked granola is a healthy and delicious family breakfast for busy mornings. This is a basic granola recipe which can be prepared quickly with simple ingredients available in our kitchens. Once you try it, you will not go back to the store-bought ones. This is healthy, tasty and quick to make, sweetened with jaggery and flavourful.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Rolled oats
  • Almonds, cashew nuts, walnuts and raisins
  • Flax seeds, pumpkin seeds and chia seeds
  • Jaggery powder and ghee

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Chop almonds, walnuts and cashew nuts as shown.

2. To make jaggery caramel, heat a pan add ghee to it, add jaggery and mix well for 5 minutes until it melts completely. The caramel will have a thick consistency.

3. In a large bowl add oats, chopped nuts, raisins, seeds, jaggery caramel and mix well.

4. In a baking pan, place butter paper and spread the oats mixture and bake for 5 minutes.

5. Let the granola cool completely. Store it in an airtight container.

 

HOMEMADE GRANOLA

INGREDIENTS

1. Rolled Oats          2 cups

2.Cashew Nuts        ¼ cup

3.Almond                 ¼ cup

4.Walnut                   ¼ cup

5.Raisins                   ¼ cup

6.Ghee                      1 teaspoon

7.Jaggery                  ½ cup

8.Pumpkin seeds     ¼ cup

9.Chia seeds              2 teaspoon

10.Flax seed.              2 teaspoon

 

Method

 Step-1 Chop cashew nuts, walnuts and almonds .

Step-2 Heat the pan, pour in ghee and add jaggery powder. Mix for 5 minutes in low flame until the jaggery melts and becomes a thick.

  

Step-3 In a large bowl add oats, dry fruits, seeds, raisins and caramel and mix well

.  

Step-4  In a baking pan, spread the butter paper. Now pour the granola mixture and spread it in an even layer.  

Step-5 Bake until slightly golden, about 20 minutes.

Step-6 Let the granola cool for about 30 minutes. Break it with hands or spoon and store it in an airtight container.

SOME TIPS

  •  You can customise the granola by adding chocolate chips, fresh fruits, coconut flakes or dry fruits of your choice.
  •  You can have it like any cereal with milk or yogurt.
  •  Cooling the granola completely increases its self-life up to 2 weeks.
